Who is the person behind the photos?
My name is Eylül, which means September in Turkish. I am 23 years old and I am living in Berlin.
How did you discover photography and what makes you keep on doing it?
I started experimenting with my mother's old camera ( which is still my favorite camera and I always use it ) and then I realized how much it makes me happy to be taking photos so since then I have not stopped.
What do you want to show through your pictures?
I think I really enjoy focusing on women and their femininity in order to talk about the social and political oppression of women in cultures like the Turkish culture. I also enjoy telling stories, every photo has kind of a little story of its own and it is fun to let people think what the story could be.
Which artist would you like to work with?
Right now it would be a dream come true to have a photo shoot with the actresses of the sensational movie 'Blue is the warmest color' .I do not spend that much time online…But I love www.booooooom.com
I enjoy traveling, but I do photography professionally so I would not call it my hobby anyway :)
What do you expect from your photographic future?
I have published my first book, Trauerweide (editionsdulic.com/products/trauerweide ) last year and I would like to publish another book this year. Also I might have my first solo exhibition either in Istanbul or Berlin.martedì 3 giugno 2014
Who is the person behind the photos?
I'm very curious and often feel emotions. I like to use my imagination, create connections, and go beyond the superficial look. I think this is inevitably present in my images.
How did you discover photography and what makes you keep on doing it?
One day, about five years ago, through a series of coincidences and fortuitous events, I have come in possession of a camera and began to shoot: from that moment I felt that this "voice" would have accompanied me always. I continue to shoot, not only because in the meantime it has also become my profession, but because I know that I can express myself so deeply through this medium only.
What do you want to show through your pictures?
The lens is only a filter that sits between me and what I feel.
For me, photography is more "feel" rather than "see" , and what I want is to feel sensations and feelings, to immerse myself in the soul of things, in their beauty, but more often in what's behind it, in the deep .
I am very attracted to the shadowy areas: in many of my photographs there is this element, which is crucial for me.
The shadow has a strong symbolic value, to increase the light, and I think that is why I am so fascinated by this element.
I am more interested to the inner life of the subjects that I'm going to shoot, rather than their appearance: it's important to me to go beyond the surface, wait and create the right chemistry and empathy with the subjects in front of me.
Designers, photographers, graphics or people that inspire you?
Probably, two painters: Caravaggio and Hopper, because they fed light as a photographer!
It would be impossible to list all the people who have inspired my imagination. Maybe I feel more akin to the work of women artists, not because I am a woman too, but because I believe that over time had a higher gear than men, and are distinguished by talent, creativity and courage.
(Quotations must for Woodman, Arbus, Modotti, Godlin, Kahlo).
Tell us two bad habbits you would like not have
I'm incredibly lazy (I hate haste), often neglect my health.
I'm too anxious.
What are your hobbies besides Photography?
See exhibitions and live concerts, going to the cinema, cooking. And above all, make bread at home (and eat this warm, freshly baked).
What do you expect from your photographic future?
I don't know, but I hope I never have to go down to the compromise of betraying myself, and my way of doing photography.

Behind the picture hides a girl of 25 years. Quiet, simple, and not ambitious as she should be.
How did you discover photography and what makes you keep on doing it?
I discovered photography almost by accident, photographing accessories in my closet.
I'll go ahead because since I started, I can not think of my life without photography. In some magical way manages to fill the voids inside of me.
