How did you discover photography and what makes you keep on doing it? Over the years I always borrowed friends's and family relative's cameras and loved to experiment with them, but I I guess everything started to come together a couple of years ago when I bought my first film camera and started following great photographers on the internet and getting feedback from people from posting my stuff online.
The whole process of imagining how the photos will come out, the actual moment of shooting them with what's available and the excitement of getting the film back from the lab and seeing the end results is what keeps me motivated.
Photographers, musicians, designers or people that inspire you?
From the famous photographers list I'd have to mention Ryan McGinley (I just love everything he does), but actually I believe it´s the people I've met through Flickr that inspire me the most. Guys like Alexey Dubinsky, Li Hui, Ren Hang, Ansatasiya Lazurenko, Synchrodogs, Miriam Sitchinava, Harley Weir, Adriano Sodré... the list goes on forever. With music the list could be even longer. Anything related to the new generation jazz artists like Brad Mehldau, Rosenwinkel/Turner and Chris Cheek. In recent years I've also gotten pretty obsessed about Radiohead and discovered Imogen Heap and Apparat. Also throw in some Beatles, Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane and Nirvana for a little taste of nostalgia.
On a personal level my mother is my biggest inspiration.
Favorite websites?
Wish I was one of those people who find all these crazy sources of online inspiration but quite frankly I always gravitage towards Flickr and Tumblr. After a couple of years of using Flickr I've come to meet some incredible artist who's work keeps me inspired. I go for Tumblr for more of a mix of awesome art and just crazy/random shit.
What do you want to show through your pictures?
I'm not sure there's any particular message in my pictures other than showing some kind of altered reality, some kind of beyond-reality-ism. It's hard to explain with words. With more abstract and/or arty work it's more obvious, but it's like when you see a picture of something you've seen in person and somehow the picture has that extra something...What are your hobbies besides photography?
I adore eating out. I'm into food from all around the world and love finding new awesome restaurants. Other than that I love to freedive in the Mediterranean sea, watching subtitled French movies, doing little road trips in search of future locations and laughing about stupid little internal jokes with my best friends 'till we cry.
What do you expect from your photographic future?
Staying inspired. Keep learning. Paying the rent.
Unpredictable.
