Who is the person behind the photos?

I am 29 years old self taught photographer who loves ginger lemon tea and sunny afternoons.

How did you discover photography and what makes you keep on doing it?
I started taking photos when I was a kid using both my father's rangefinder camera and my mom's compact camera. Unfortunately I got bored with that rather fast. I picked up camera few years while studying psychology to discover that it brings me a lot of joy. Nowadays I just can't imagine doing anything else.

Which artist would you like to work with?
I would love to take photos of Tilda Swinton. Hopefully one day...

What are your hobbies besides photography?
I got Master of Arts in Psychology diploma and although I don't work as psychologist I'm still very interested in it. I try to keep on track the new studies in the field of social psychology.

Is there anything you want express with your works?
My works is very much based on the relation between the model and the surrounding and I just want to capture this fragile connection.

What is your favourite photo taken?
I don't have a favorite one. I don't feel very attached to them, the whole act of taking a photos is way more exciting than just looking at the results.

What do you expect from your photographic future?
Each day brings something new and unexpected. I know that I'll be ok with whatever future brings.

Who is the person behind the photos?

My name is Claudia, some people call me Cloudy, I'm an Italian photographer based in London and I spend most of my time hoping for a sunny day. I enjoy taking pictures, having a laugh, napping hard, cooking vegan food and jumping in waterfalls.

How did you discover photography and what makes you keep on doing it?
I always wanted to do something creative, but I was pretty confused about what medium suited me best. While I was studying multimedia arts in Milan, the only courses that I truly enjoyed were photography and sociology, so I decided to move to England to focus on photography. Now I can't imagine my life without a camera as I love taking portraits and the camera allows me to overcome my shyness and approach people.

Tell us two bad habbits you would like not have
My worst bad habits are smoking and procrastinating. If I could stop procrastinating, my life would be 1000 times better.

Is there anything you want express with your works?
I don't really want to express anything, I want to record the beauty of the people that I photograph.

Which artist would you like to work with?
I'd love to collaborate with my boyfriend who is a scenic artist and prop maker to recreate some of the weird dreams that I had.

What are your hobbies besides photography?
My favourite hobby is daydreaming, I'm a real expert in the field.

What do you expect from your photographic future?
I don't expect anything, I just hope to keep shooting as long as I live.

May is Clotilde Boisrenard

My name is Lucie or Clotilde (as you want!), I am living in France (Lyon) and I am 20.

Il mio nome è Lucie o Clotilde (come preferisci!), vivo in Francia (Lione) e ho vent'anni.

My photographs are the testimony of a current youth, it is a subjective vision of the world. Teenagers's figures, places, lights, are showed in an "atmospheric" way. That results technically in the use of analogic. Indeed this one fixes the light, it takes a piece of the atmosphere, a piece of time and solidifies it on its negative. There is no transposition, no  artificialization of the sensitivity, contrary to the digital.

I give to see the faintness of adolescence, condemned in this century which vegetates (on my opinion).
The aesthetic choice, ethereal, airy, sensory, atmospheric, testifies to the spleen, the youthful melancholy. I am in love with Pictorial photography, Pre-Raphaelite painters and illustrators of the early nineteenth century; however i am inspired by clear composition, classic workmanship and simple lines. I hope that these influences can be seen in my work.
